The Taglyan Complex hosted the 2nd annual benefit for Nora Perez vs ALS last week. Nora is a Los Angeles County Probation officer and suffers from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). She is trying to battle this cruel disease which has no cure. Nora’s life has changed so drastically that she can’t do the simple things that she once did like typing and walking. Her ALS has progressed and left her using a wheelchair to get around. Once an active professional and mother, Nora is now confided to getting help and care from others. Nora needs our help and that’s why we hosted this benefit as a way to help her with expenses because of her conditions and disabilities with ALS. The 2nd annual benefit featured a special guest performance by Al B. Sure and the panel of performers included comedians Brenda Lamberty, Rick Izquieta and the Old School battle of the DJ’s. There was also dancing and raffles. One of the raffles was Nora Perez’s BMW, which she can’t use anymore because she is wheelchair bound. All proceeds will go into purchasing medical equipment that Nora needs. We would like to personally thank all the people who participated in this Annual Benefit. Our Gary Taglyan received a recognition award for his support and generosity and is much honored. We all want to raise awareness about ALS. No one knows why people get ALS. You can also join the Annual “Walk to Defeat ALS” on October 20, 2013 starting at 11 am at Exposition Park in Los Angeles, CA. We will continue to support this important cause and hope that you will to.
