I wrote previously about the Hans-Schneider International Children’s Foundation silent auction and benefit dinner that was proceeding without its late founder, Sam Man Han, who recently passed away from terminal cancer.
The dinner, which was held at Taglyan Cultural Complex on October 26th, raised $32,000 for orphanages in developing nations like North Korea, Cambodia, and Tanzania. Nearly 350 people were in attendance to support this noble cause; more attendees and money raised than any previous event.
Sam Han was adopted from North Korea during the war and made it his life’s goal to help children in similar situations. His son Arthur was named Executive Director of HSICF and delivered a lovely tribute to his father.
Guests at the event enjoyed dinner, cocktails, raffles, and silent and live auctions, with a week-long vacation to Colorado as the top item.
Thanks to all of the volunteers, staff, and sponsors, as well as anyone who donated. Hopefully next year will allow us to save even more orphans around the world.
