We are very pleased to announce that the Dream Builders Project’s 5th Biennial “A Brighter Future for Children” Black Tie Charity Gala & Charity Poker Tournament, held at Taglyan on September 26th, 2019, was its most successful to date. The event raised nearly $50,000 to directly benefit the Mark Taper and Johnny Mercer Artist Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Guests enjoyed an evening of food, music, poker, and fun at Taglyan’s dazzling ballroom.
Plenty of familiar faces could be seen on the red carpet, including actors David Arquette, Kerry Rhodes, Mekhi Phifer, and actress Lara Clear.
There were live musical performances, live art performances and exhibits, a celebrity poker tournament, both silent and live auctions, as well as delicious hors d’oeuvres, a gourmet dinner, and an open bar.
Poker tables offered a fun and unique way to win prizes or lose money (don’t worry, it all went to the Children’s Hospital!) and the dance floor stayed full all night long.

Dream Builders Project founder Mayer Dahan made a speech about the impact of the gala, and thanked everyone who joined the cause to raise awareness and benefit the children.
The Dream Builders Project is a non-profit organization, and the Mark Taper-Johnny Mercer Artists Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles provides the opportunity for patients to express their creativity and emotions through visual arts, music, poetry, expressive arts, and dance during their stay at the hospital.

Art therapy programs have proven to aid in the healing of patients by alleviating pain, accelerating recovery time, decreasing stress and anxiety, improved treatment compliance and communication and more.
This was a very special evening of joining together as a community for a great cause, and we were very happy to be a part of it at Taglyan.
